All right. Speaking of being the first class, today in Exodus 14, we're going to talk about God is fulfilling a generational promise. Just kind of understanding what is being done through you. So overall, I'm just want to hint first on Genesis 15, 13 through 14, where God mentions your descendants will be strangers, and afterwards they will come out and come out with great possessions. And following that with Exodus 12, 12, um, Exodus 12, 41, and it says, at the end of 430 years, all the hosts of the Lord went out. Now, this was like, of course, not at the moment. Well, at the moment, it may have felt random, but this is a covenant fulfillment. Um, and so just to draw right in, we are kind of just pulling back going into going into 14. Think about before um there was a uh God was leading um then through a way um of the Philistines, but God led his people around. What are we talking about? So of course we know there was a short road going through the Philistine road, but a faster way was full of war. So the Philistine road was shoot route, excuse me, the Philistine route was faster, but it was full of war. So sometimes we can go a route that's faster, but it requires more. And then there was a longer route, which was going through the wilderness for the children of Israel, but it required a dependence. Um, sometimes the route that we're going through may be uncomfortable, but it requires a dependence on God. Now, there are, I'm gonna skip a few scriptures because I'm gonna reference to them later, but God will bypass your preference to preserve your purpose. A lot of times we're looking for the sweet spot, the the wick. How can we get somewhere the quickest? How can we get from point A to B? But God is looking at what in what process will I draw you nearer to me? In what process will you be dependent on me? In what process will I be glorified? And then as will you be able to use this as a testimony to teach, lead, and encourage others to love your neighbor as you love yourself. So God uses opposition even for his glory. So just to go right into the top of the book, um, God lets us know in Exodus um 14, 3 and 4, he says, I will harden Pharaoh's heart, I will be honored upon Pharaoh. Why is God saying this? Why is he saying this at all? And it brought me to the attention is that our opposition is often God's platform for revelation. Like God. Um, just kind of referencing Keyship scriptures before in um Joseph 4, 23, God says that all the peoples of the earth might know the hand of the Lord in Romans 9. It lets us know for the purpose I raise you up, that I might show my power in you. Um, sometimes we're thinking, like, man, you know, this is this is for me. Now, don't get me wrong, God is so good that yes, there's a story that he's working through you, but whenever God is calling you up, when God is calling you out, it's not just for you, it's for those that in that season that he's called you to. So we have to be mindful to keep our minds set on God, not to focus on our ways, but God's ways. And even when we're going down into Exodus 14, it says, it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians. Why? Why do the children of Israel have this mindset at the time? And why is mindset so important? Um, they were physically free but mentally conditioned. How many of us have experienced situations to where you felt like maybe even just a little bit? It's better if I go back to where I came from. It's better if I do the thing that I know that is easy. It's better if I go to the situation that didn't cause me so much trouble. Now, temporarily we we can have a human, let's just call it moment, but their mindset was not focused on the promise. Their mindset wasn't focused on what was the head. The mindset was focused on the comfort of being able to calculate what's going on now. But in that space, they were bound. And God is looking to, as he lets us know, all throughout his word, he's looking to be glorified through our lives, right? Our lives itself is worship onto him. But here we want to make sure that we're consistently focusing our brain, our minds, not on our own thoughts, but on the thoughts of the Lord, for his ways are higher than our ways, and it's easy to get trans tripped up. And so, how can we as well focus on that? One of my favorite foundational scriptures, focusing on Romans 12.1 and focus on one uh Romans 12.2, for us to be number one submitted to God, to choose his yes, amen, to do it his way, to understand our bodies, our lives as a holy sacrifice unto him, to consistently seek his word, being transformed by the renewing of our mind. How does this even go into this story in Exodus? Because deliverance must move from location to the mentality that you have then into identity. It doesn't just start with, let me just say these words. We have to believe the word of God and then do something, right? But amen. The identity aspect is what do we believe, right? Does is this what my father says about me? Is this my feelings about myself? So it's important that we choose not only to trust God saying his word, but act like it. Again, not just be hears of the word, but doers of the word. So we want to again kind of just speak about the doers part. We must have trust before we go into action. Exodus 14 gives a good example of that because they say stand still and see salvation of the Lord. Stand still, stand still, or salvation here means deliverance, rescue, and victory. Um, and when we think about salvation, um, I'm pretty sure most people can think about uh Jesus, think about Yahweh, but when we think about being the him being the great deliverer or the great rescuer or victory belongs to Jesus, it's it's important for us to know, understand that God is always with us. And even in the Psalms, it lets us know to be still and know that I am God, you have a pretty phenomenal matter of fact, you have the best backing when you move in the things of God, because with that, there is no way you will not win when he's with you. There is no way that as we um do what God has telling us to do, that our steps are not ordered. Our part is to be obedient, our part is to be positioned where God tells us to move and move accordingly. So faith itself is not about panic when something happens, it's about positioning ourselves to witness God move, but as well to be used by God, to be used by God, to be used by God, we must be first be yes, willing and obedient. So we thank God here in this piece that Moses was willing and obedient. So faith requires a forward motion. Um, going down a little bit more in Exodus, it says, uh, why do you cry to me? The children of Israel go to go to go forward, excuse me. And here we're just kind of focusing on again, just the children of Israel, just kind of as well being in this place, is like, uh, what's going on? What do we do? And like God is like, hey, I've given you instructions, I've told you what to do, I've told you how you need to do it, go, right? I'm always so enticed and so just in love with God saying, two uh two simple letters, go. Um, and I'm always reflecting Abraham, what God is saying, go into the place that I lead you, and as you go, I'll give you instructions. We know faith without works is dead. We can believe, um, but in order with us believe, we must do. We were talking about that in the beginning. Faith that passed through the Red Sea is the example of what's happening here. This is God's response to activated faith, not passive belief. So, hey, faith, I believe it so much that I'm doing. So we thank God that Moses was able to plant forth his staff to believe his word, to then carry the um children of Israel forth into a space that was unlogical. So sometimes we're going to test a space in time to where what we're doing every day does not look like um it doesn't make sense in the sense of it's not practical. You have nothing to compare it to. You have no one to just say, hey, you know, have you did this or has someone else ever done this in the world? You know, the in Exodus 14, it mentioned that the waters were divided, they went into the mist and the seaground was dry. Listen, I I don't have any friends that are are planting staffs in water and the in the in the waters being divided. You know, you may see some supernatural aspects of what God is looking to do through you, but let that be a testament of his power, that the the God that created the heavens and the earth, the God that created the water and and the land, he has the ability to even use his creation to like to bless you, to to make a way out of no way, to give you provision. And amen, just thinking about his authority that's available, that he is the same God that commands the the waters and the seas to obey. So here, using the Red Sea as an example, God on the Red Sea becomes a pattern of God making impossible pathways. When you're thinking about even now, just water, the ocean, just the things that you're experiencing. Remember this story in Exodus, how God used Moses to say, I can make a way out of no way. I want to show you a pattern of me making impossible pathways. And then just into closing, you know, ultimately God is looking to fulfill Himself through you, right? Being fulfilled through the love of Christ, being fulfilled and understand that we are called to do so much more. The Red Sea is a symbol, it's the symbolization of baptism. So think about Egypt when the old life sent in bondage. Think about water as the transition and think about the wilderness as a new identity journey. Um, Romans reflects to us that we were buried with him through baptism. So Exodus 14 is not just about um the history or just identifying the story of what happened. It is a blueprint for salvation. I love before what I was speaking about dependence on God. So um God fights for us and disrupts the enemy. We want to understand that God is always fighting on our behalf. And whenever we consistently lean on not only trusting God, doing it God's way, but amen, trusting his provision and being obedient to what God is calling us to do, we are able to just see um a different layer of not only his protection, not only a different layer of his glory, not a different layer of his manifestation of his goodness, but we're able to partner with God. And again, number one, come out victorious on every side. God doesn't just protect you, he dismantles what pursues you, right? He massacres the enemy, he's already a defeated foe. He gives you the authority now on this side of heaven to keep him under your feet. So just keep in mind as we close today, just in reflection to even this story, of course, we know in closing, um, Exodus 14 says, not so much of one of them remained. And we just think about the destruction of when um the staff was released from the water and all the water came down and Pharaoh's um um army was behind, you know, still pursuing them. He said, Not one of them remain. God is so intentional about pursuing you, about making sure that you're protected, about not only making a way out of no way, but making sure there's nothing left behind to even um come for you again. So we say we draw the bloodline, um, breaking every generational curse, breaking every every attack of the enemy that may have been pushing or hindering against your family um all these years. He's using you, the chosen one. He's using you, the chain breaker. He's using you, the one who's saying yes to this a consistent pursuit of his heart and his love to shift what will be generational blessings for your family to come. So, and closing, um, the enemy, God loves to remove the enemy externally and to record it internally. That's it for now.
