FBT Daily Devotional: Jeremiah 1

Pastor Reggie

We explore Jeremiah 1 as a blueprint for calling, courage, and timing, showing how God appoints us before we feel ready and watches over His word to perform it. We share why willingness outruns worthiness, how truth in love transforms, and how to keep moving when comfort fades.

Awesome. Everyone, we're going over um Jeremiah 1 today. Jeremiah 1. And so we want to focus on a few things. We all have a divine calling. Every single one of us. And even though we may not feel ready, when God calls us individually, he doesn't call us before. He doesn't call us saying, hey Tiffany, are you ready? He called us knowing that we were not ready. And a big thing is we generally don't feel ready, and then we generally don't feel worthy. So we don't generally do what we're called. But when God called us, he knew exactly where we were. And he's still expecting for us to move forward and be obedient and be strong, be courageous. Going into my next aspect, we have to combat the aspect of courage versus fear. Courage is not the absence of fear, but trusting God's presence. We just gotta trust Him. We may not know every step, every detail, every intricacy. However, if God said it, my people, it has to be final. We have to make that decision within ourselves. And so back to obedience. God's purpose is fulfilled through willingness. We are willing to do what God told us to do. Not it's comfortable. A lot of, and I'm sure there may be many of you like me, a lot of the things that God has asked me to do, it was not comfortable. I was not, oh God, it's easy peasy. He was like, um, Tiffany, do a thing. And I'm like, okay, sir. Okay. So don't focus on your comfort. God didn't call us in this thing called life, just it being based off your comfortability. And more so than not, when you're called into the spaces and you're not comfortable, it's a clear sign that it is something that you need to do. As well, focusing on the aspect of judgment and restorations, God's messages often exposes sin but rebuilds hope. So in the journey that God has for us to walk out every single day, not only in ourselves individually, but maybe in the things that we're connected to, our families, our friends, our loved ones, um, even atmospheres that He's looking to change. He's calling out what's not right to be right, and also sharing the aspect of hope, giving us the aspect of vision that can be casted for us to dream and know that in this we're not alone. But God is just so faithful that he lets us know in his word. He wants to bless us. His heart is to bless us exceedingly, excuse me, abundantly, above anything we could think, above anything we could ask for, above anything that we could imagine. I have a beautiful imagination that's ever growing. God is saying, girl, you ain't got nothing on me. What I have for you is so big. But he says that for all of us, right? We are all the apple of God's eye. We have all his children. So, what is the difference between you walking out your dream and me walking out mine? Willingness. And so when we think about overall, God is just so sovereign, his plan and his time and prevails over all nations, over all agendas, honestly, even over our own. So today, yeah, we're gonna think about the aspect of vision we know that's gonna come alive a lot in Jeremiah 1. And so, God, in an example, here in the middle of the chapter, he's speaking about the almond tree vision. Um, he says, I see the branch of the almond tree. You have seen well, for I am watching to perform it. How beautiful is only, of course, that we know that God is faithful to perform his word, but he's literally saying, I'm watching over it, he's being attentive to it. And if we're thinking about a little bit of study down into the Hebrew play on words, almond shape, and he said in the word almond shaped like shaped sound like watching. So I can't pronounce the word right, but it's s-h o qued. I won't try it, but the sound like watching. So this is a symbolization that the tree first blooms, representing vigilance and early fulfillment. And so here, God wants us to understand that God is alert and active, fulfilling his word even when it seems delayed. We generally hear God is working even when it feels like he's not working. It is absolutely true. We don't serve a God that sleeps or slumbers, but is always working on our behalf. And to be honest, we have the authority in Christ to not only have the activation of the angelic ministry working on our behalf, but when we're speaking what God is saying and doing what God is telling us to do, even the thing, even our rest is working on our behalf for us to partner with what God says. So we just have to understand even the things that we do in alignment to the word that may not look like production, it is also partnering with God and working on our behalf. So it's so important that we're operating in divine order. And so I'm going to jump into just things that I want us to think about. You are known and you are chosen. God has ordained you for your role in his plan. You have a role in his plan. You may not feel like you do, you may not really have a clear understanding of it. Or we just thank God that he's so faithful. You can freely ask him for wisdom at any time and he will give it. Our biggest piece is actually being still and listening. And also growing in the aspect of knowing the voice of God. So when he speaks to us, that we know that it's him. But we're filtering everything through his love, through his word. Is this what your word says? Is this your spoken word to me? Is this an unction in my spirit that you're calling me forth to do? Yes, this takes practice. This takes us consistently going before the word of God, getting in the presence of God, being cultivated in the word. But we all have been chosen, sanctified, set apart. So a part of us walking out this set apart life is us being obedient and us being consistent and growing in the word. Do not underestimate your voice. Don't underestimate it. You may feel like I don't have anything to say, you know, I don't know. My age, my background, my experience. Somebody knows more than me. I'm disqualified. When it comes to God, number one, He don't make no mistakes. So if God called you, that means you operate in this divine purpose. The only thing that's holding you back is you. I know. It don't feel good to hear it out loud, but if you're not walking out your purpose, the only thing that call the only thing that's holding you back is you. Now, don't get me wrong, we understand that there's an adversary, but at the same time, he has no power for real. So we have to grow in the knowledge and the understanding of what God has called us to do. And if we walk in that anointing that he's already given us, the power that he's already given us, then what his word says is anything is possible with God. I'm just saying. And so when we're facing opposition with faith, we have to make sure that we're understanding that God's presence ensures victory. It's a fixed fight, it's guaranteed, even when the circumstances are hard. So once again, the objective and the goal is that you have to keep pressing forward. Don't give up, do not faint, and don't go back to the old ways. I would say going backwards is not an option. Forward is your only direction. When we know that, and when we can really say, I know that I have victory in the Lord, then it does not matter what you experience. And yes, in this life we will experience long suffering. Love suffers long and is still kind. Right? God is not a respecter of persons, right? What you've achieved, what you've done, but a respecter of pay of faith, those who put their confidence, their trust, their assurance, their beliefs in Him, no matter what. So just keep that before you because sometimes when it gets hard, we want to crumble, especially when it's cold outside. We want to get up under the cover and just hope the day away. But in all honesty, we really don't even want that because if we hope the day away, that means you're no longer here. So we just got to get up, we got to fight. I like to say David to the Goliath. Just know that God's equipped you and be ready. Last two, just want to focus on speaking the truth in love. Sometimes we could really have a way of doing it our way, but if we're thinking about sharing in the aspect of love, real transformation opens, um, often begins with correction before restoration, right? Correction before restoration. And sometimes that aspect of correction is again the enemy, is the enemy. Not exactly what you've done, but how you're doing it. And so we want to make sure, of course, with us being a part of the beyond community and us being in the transformational business, that we want to make sure that we are making sure that we're speaking the truth in love, not from the places that we hurt, amen, but from the transformed place that we're operating in and the place of love that the other one needs to experience. We got to step outside of ourselves. And in closing, trusting God's timing, very much so like the almond tree example, God's promises bloom right and early. They're on time, on God's time, right? Sometimes we don't feel like it's on time, but God is an on-time God, He's He's never late, but it's always right on time. And so when we're thinking about a true reflection here, um, Jeremiah 1 reminds us that a believing is divine, it is not accidental. God still calls people to speak, to lead, and to stand up in and for truth in these chaotic times. So every single person on this call, every single person as you go forth, you carry a unique assignment, uproot every lie, plant only the truth, and build your lives that only reflect God's glory. Because everything that we do is honestly worship unto God. I am ready for breakouts.
